Electric toothbrush Dental Products:

Almost all of my patients receive recommendations for electric toothbrushes from me as a dental hygienist. Whether it’s a Sonicare or an Oral B, both are extremely reputable brands that require less air from the user when brushing, electric toothbrushes can create thousands of tiny strokes in just a few seconds, whereas manual toothbrushes cannot. If you use an electric toothbrush properly, you should be able to clean your teeth above average. If you have gum issues or are really trying to improve the health of your gums, the more gum stimulation the better, and an electric toothbrush is really great at stimulating the gums.

For patients with gum disease, gingivitis, or those who simply have a lot of heavy plaque buildup, I strongly advise using an electric toothbrush. The Oral Bee has a longer, slim handle that makes it ideal for people with jaw issues or small mouths, and the Sonicare is similar to a powerful vibrating toothbrush that works wonders at stimulating your gum tissue. Manual toothbrushes are more likely to be used incorrectly because they don’t do the work for you like electric toothbrushes do.

Therefore, the best electric toothbrush for your particular mouth really comes down to personal preference. Whichever one you choose, just make sure you’re using it correctly by angling the toothbrush towards your gums and moving it from tooth to tooth.

Water flosser:

Water flossers are great for patients who struggle with gingivitis, red, inflamed, bleeding gums, periodontal disease, gingival pocketing, and bone loss. While they don’t replace traditional string flossing, they can be your new best friend if you have gum issues like swollen, bleeding gums. The stimulation from water flossers can be life-changing, or should I say gum-changing. The floss string literally can’t reach down into some of those crevices if you have deep pockets in your gums due to high paral pocketing, but water flossers can, thus you should absolutely think about getting one.

When it comes to water picks, I usually suggest any type that has a pressure dial that allows you to adjust the spray intensity. This allows you to set the pressure to low, medium, high, or 1 through 10.
I don’t think those are as excellent since every mouth has a distinct preferred experience; you want to feel it, but you also want to be able to adjust the pressure dial.

Floss:

I understand that this may be annoying, but if you really do water floss daily, you should also technically be using string floss between your teeth. If you do this regularly, you don’t technically need to use the best proper technique when using string because the water flosser takes care of most of the work; it thoroughly cleans the gum line. However, there is one area where the water flosser is unable to reach: the point where the two teeth meet. In this case, string floss comes in handy.

Since most of the patients already use a water flosser on a daily basis, I tell them that using a floss pick is okay. However, if you also have dental cavities or tooth decay, you should really be using traditional string floss with proper technique.

Inter Dental brushes proxy:

Brushes, goeters, or whatever name you want to give them, are like little brushes that clean in between your teeth. A lot of excellent dental research has been done to demonstrate their effectiveness. If you use them properly, which largely involves figuring out the right size to fit between your teeth, they can really keep your gums healthy. Many dental professionals believe that these can take the place of traditional string floss as long as you use the right size for each individual tooth. Gum is a brand that offers color-coded sizing options.

When you look at it, these tiny bristles are actually brushes that fit in between your teeth rather than just a piece of string. This is especially useful if you have large gaps between your teeth, find it difficult to wrap the string around your teeth properly, or even if your teeth are spaced normally. They also work great for everyone looking to improve the health of their gums. I also find that there’s less chance of missing spots when using these than when using traditional string floss because string floss is more likely to be used incorrectly

The proxy brushes are quite easy to use; all you have to do is push them in and out. For additional details on how to determine the right fit and technique.

Xylol chewing Xylitol gum:

Because xylitol helps repel plaque and suppress bacteria, which is helpful because excessive levels of plaque bacteria caught on teeth may frequently cause the gums to become inflamed or angry, Xylitol mints are a terrific thing to do after eating and snacking throughout the day. XYL can be used to reduce plaque in a preventive manner, but it does not take the role of mechanically removing plaque by brushing, flossing, and using water flossers to clean in between teeth. While dental brushes don’t take the place of any of that, they are seen to be an extra bonus that should be utilized in addition to your normal at-home care regimen.

All chewing xylol gum and using water flossers and electric toothbrushes Your gums will be healthier if you floss and brush your teeth twice a day at home. However, if you have tartar below your gum line, there isn’t much you can do at home because tartar cannot be removed from your teeth without a professional teeth cleaning at your dentist’s office. Make sure you visit your dentist for checkups and cleanings on a regular basis to ensure that your gum health is improving. Until then, make it a habit to brush and floss correctly.

At least once a day, at home, you should floss and/or clean in between your teeth. Speaking of habits, if you’re interested in developing the ideal oral care routine, the ideal habit forming routine.
